BIG WEEKEND NORWICH 2015
So! Te Big Weekend, eh? Mega exciting. We know loads of you are dying to see the massive names who are playing, like Sam Smith, Swifty and Charli XCX. But we wanted to give you a heads up on some of our top favourites not to miss, whether you’ll be watching on the telly or in the field. Tis weekend offers Norwich a great opportunity to discover some new music and bands, both national and local, so here’s our low down on the line up for the Big Weekend. Whoop whoop!
SLAVES Saturday In New Music We Trust Stage
Outline favourites Laurie (guitar) and Isaac (drums and vocals) produce a massive punk rock sound for a duo. All done with their tongues firmly in their cheeks, their latest tunes have a firm musical footing in Nirvana circa Bleach. An absolute wonder live in our opinion, and we recommend you definitely catch them at the Big Weekend. You’ll regret it if you don’t.
Snoop Lion, Calvin Broadus Jnr has always been both a controversial figure and incredibly talented rapper. Let's hope he gets through customs ‘cos we can't wait to see his doggy style.
JAMIE T Saturday In New Music We Trust Stage
and natural voice is something very special and it floats above her strong and memorable tunes.
FOO FIGHTERS Sunday Main Stage
Next Big Ting competition last year Harry’s hit the big time. Currently busy making new music for release, we cannot wait to hear his James Blake-esque vocals over his hip hop inspired electronica. He’ll have a three piece band with him this time round. Srsly, don’t miss him.
Jamie T played the Nick Raynes LCR last year & did a wicked job. Look out for Slaves in the audience; he's cited as a big influence on their music. Canvas Magazine have described him as "like the bastard lovechild of Billy Bragg and Mike Skinner doing his best Joe Strummer impression". Top notch.
SNOOP DOGG Saturday In New Music We Trust Stage
Dude needs no introduction really. From his days as the Doggfather through to Snoopadelic via
SOAK Saturday In New Music We Trust Stage
Bridie is from Derry in Northern Ireland and makes super lovely songs like Sea Creatures, a Radio 6 favourite. Her delicate
Headed up by Dave Grohl, "Te Nicest Man In Rock" and ex-Nirvana drummer, the Foo Fighters have gone from strength to strength over the years with their stadium filling rock. It’s blown our minds a bit that they're coming, to be honest. We love them everlong.

Tere’s so much super stuff on at the Big Weekend we couldn’t possibly fit it all in here. We’ve just picked out our top favourites. But there’s something for (nearly) everyone, so if you managed to get tickets we hope you have a bloody good time!
Don’t forget you can also watch all these musics on the red button from your sofa in your pants, or hear them on the radio in your kitchen while you prepare some Super Noodles. Mmmm comfy.
