ADVERTISING FEATURE A POPULAR CHOICE FOR ARMED FORCES CHILDREN

“Some people think boarding is like a sleepover, but it’s not true. Boarding is like coming home to a massive family!”

Chafyn Grove School is a popular choice for armed forces children. Our boarding enhances the sense of community and is all about making the most of your time at school, developing independence and making friends for life – our aim is to provide a caring and happy envi- ronment in which children thrive and grow. Our boarders benefit from a secure and homely atmosphere and are accommodated in cosy, brightly decorated dormitories, often creatively decorated with their own pictures and posters, their own bedding and of course a teddy or two! There is a full weekly activity programme for boarders, as well as a weekend programme, where both boarding and teaching staff are fully involved with the children.

“Relationships are relaxed and friendly so that boarders see boarding as an extension of family life; they recount shared experiences and

anticipate those of younger pupils yet to join.” ISI Report 2010

Whether it’s running to their next class, taking part in a gardening activity, or going out to the local arts centre to play in a jazz concert, Chafyn pupils have a very full and stimulating life! We strive to inspire each individual child to reach their full potential whether it is on the sports field, on the stage or in the classroom.

With a huge variety of extra-curricular activities, a com- mitted and enthusiastic staff, excellent facilities and small class sizes (maximum 18), we aim high in every area of school life. A friendly environment, supportive parents and a relaxed atmosphere make for happy days at school. It is this combination that makes Chafyn Grove special.

In recent years all pupils have reached the school of their choice with an average annual haul of 14 scholarships to senior schools. Pupils go on to many well-known schools including Bryanston, Canford, Dauntsey’s, Eton, Godol- phin, Marlborough, Sherborne and Winchester. Pupils are also prepared for 11+ to the two Grammar Schools in Salisbury – several Year 6 pupils made the grade last year, although some opted to stay at Chafyn, and who can blame them!

Chafyn Grove School is Preparatory School for both boys and girls that welcome both boarding and day children from the age of 3 to 13. The school sits on the edge of the historic city of Salisbury, a short walk into the city whilst still overlooking the rolling hills of the Wiltshire country- side. With good links to London by rail (1½ hrs) and 45 minutes to both Southampton and Bournemouth Airports.
