Introducing The Royal British Legion’s

We met with The Royal British Legion’s CivvyStreet to explore how they could help spouses into employment as well as Service Leavers and Veterans.

The service

CivvyStreet is a free online service that provides a wealth of information for anyone who has served in the UK Armed Services (regular or reserves). It has interactive services, resources and links to employers and service organisations who can help families during transition from the Armed Forces into civilian life.

CivvyStreet website has launched its new Service Families section, specifically to help spouses and partners of serving personnel or Service Leavers.

What we liked is the fact that CivvyStreet recognises that having a partner in

the Armed Forces can present unique employment hurdles. With that in mind, the new Service Families section on the website highlights the services on offer to the partners and spouses of anyone who is Serving.

Services available include: • CivvyStreet Jobs • CivvyStreet Careers Advice service • CivvyStreet Funding Advice service • Employment Support Grant funding • CivvyStreet online CV builder • CivvyStreet Virtual Careers Fairs • 150+ free learndirect training courses • Access to entire CivvyStreet knowledge base.

Partners and spouses can register with CivvyStreet by going to: https:// www.civvystreet.org/. Please note, they will need their family member’s Service number.
