What’s On Malling & district clubs, societies & activities IT is new year and the time when lots of people decide they


would like to make a fresh start by taking up new activities or making new friends. The many clubs and organisations in the Malling Action Partnership cater for a wide range of interests and offer a warm welcome to newcomers, so why not give them a try? Details of some of the regular meetings are listed on this page.

January 25 West Malling Farmers’ Market from 9.30am to 1.30pm in the High Street, West Malling.


January 27


Malling District U3A. Meetings are held at Ryarsh Village Hall on the 4th Tuesday of the month, starting at 2pm with a guest speaker. Lectures are given by experts in their field with subjects covering many different topics. A question and answer session generally follows the talk. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available after the event and there is plenty


of time to socialise with the other members.


February 4


St James Centre, East Malling. Craft and chat drop-in group. 10am to noon.


February 11 West Malling Baptist Church Coffee Mornings held every second Wednesday of the month in the church from 9am - noon.


Enjoy a chat, cup of tea or coffee, and delicious home- made cakes in a friendly atmosphere. All donations that are received go to a different charity each month.


This week proceeds to Heart Foundation so wear something red!

February 14 Offham Farmers' Market is held at Spadework Nursery in Teston Road, Offham from 10am to 2pm. The market currently has around 30 stalls and is organised by Spadework, a charity which provides training and support for adults with learning difficulties and other


disabilities. All pitch fees go directly to the charity.

Rotary Club of Malling Quiz Night at Ryarsh Hall, 7pm for 7.30pm.

Malling Photographic Society meets every Tuesday at West Malling Village Hall at 8pm.


The Heath Players meet at the East Malling Institute, Mill Street, at 8pm on Fridays.


Malling Rotary meets Tuesdays at 6.30pm at Spadework, Teston Road, Offham.


Malling Art Society meets every Thursday at Offham Village Hall, 8pm to 10pm.


Dance for fun every Monday at St James Centre, East Malling, 6.30pm to 7.30pm. £1.


Malling Community Choir meets every Tuesday at West Malling Baptist Church, 7.15pm to 8.45pm. £2 per adult, children free.


Addington Bridge Club meets every Tuesday from 7pm in the sports pavilion, Park Road.


East Malling Women’s Institute meets at the East Malling Institute behind the King and Queen pub on the third Monday of every month, 7.45pm to 9.45pm.


Malling Stamp Club meets on the second Tuesday of every month at the Clout Institute, West Malling High Street, at 7.30pm.


Spadework Farmers’ Market is on the second Saturday of the month from 10am to 12.30pm at Spadework, Teston Road. For more details, see www.spadework.net.

Every Monday, The Oasis Tea Room opposite Ditton Village Green is sponsored by St. Peter's Church as a Fairtrade venture, offering home-made cakes and tea or coffee on Monday afternoons (except bank holidays) from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. All proceeds to local charities.
