EY, HAPPY NEW YEAR, NORWICH! We’ve watched one million sofa adverts, spent time with relations we don’t really know and forced ourselves to eat everything in
the house, even the toffee penny. Well done! We hope your New Year’s Eve was suitably full of party larks and you did plenty to regret come the 1st of January.
Who knows what joys and delights this year will hold? Tomorrow’s World pretty much promised me jetpacks and food in pill form by now I’m sure, but for now we’ll just have to enjoy innovations such as a rubbish hoverboard and the newly developed ‘barely there’ thinnest condom ever. Safe.
Tis month we grabbed a chat with those beautiful and talented sisters from Sweden First Aid Kit, and the down-home bluegrass stars of Jools Holland’s 2014 Hootenanny, Hayseed Dixie. Mortdecai is our film of the month; it’s basically a showcase for Depp’s Flashman moustache. If you haven’t yet eaten all the pies over Christmas, have a read about Flaming Galah’s Aussie Pie Stop, the ultimate in warming comfort food. Old Father Time pulls no punches this month so we wrapped up and wandered the streets of Norwich to find out what your New Year Resolutions are. Or would be, if only we were all superhuman. Amirite?
We’re bigging up our local music scene this month, with an interview with Norwich folk band Wooden Arms . Check out our essential guide to underground Norwich music to keep an ear open for during 2015 as well; you can then be tediously smug when they hit the big time.
Nostradamus predicted that in 2015 humans would be able to talk to animals, and the dead will come back to life. Huh. You win some, you lose some. Have a happy year, stay well, stay warm and stay cool.
YOU RULE LIKE THE KING OF KINGS, NORWICH. This month
