FACT: Years of use in Europe prove that degradation won’t be a problem with safe, nontoxic DEF. DEF does not become toxic at any temperature.
MYTH: “DEF is hard to use and the SCR system is difficult to maintain.”
FACT: Adding nonhazardous, nonflam- mable DEF to your vehicle is as simple as topping off your radiator coolant or windshield wiper fluid. Maintenance only requires you to replace a single filter every 200,000 miles.
MYTH: “DEF will be very difficult to find.”
FACT: With a vast majority of the industry using SCR, DEF will be as available as diesel or any other fluid your vehicle needs. Numerous major service centers have committed to carrying DEF.
