This was followed by a curiosity and further research in electronic devices, which resulted in his latest piece using electronics.
David’s pieces combine the art of wood sculpting (soon to be followed by other media), the creativity of design and concept, and the complexities of engineering and electronics. personalities by painting and accessorizing them are his wife Maryke’s contribution.
participating in the local (Vancouver BC) Artists in our Midst exhibition. During this time his studio was also open to the general public and upwards of 200 interested came to see his art. His work also appeared in the 2014 Fall issue of the Oregon’s Permanente Journal. While in Europe last year, two musea/galleries, dedicated to automata, expressed interest in having one of his pieces: Stratford-upon-Avon’s MAD Museum and Belgium’s Monopoli museum.
In only his third year of retirement, David shows no signs of slowing down and will continue his pursuit of more challenging creations in the world of automata.
