I have always been a little embarrassed to say I was an estate agent but I love telling people I work at Haus!” Haus Properties is a new concept

BRISTOL AGENCY CHIEF TO HEAD PROPERTY LOBBY Bristol estate agent Doug Wood has been appointed President of the Bristol Property Agents

Association (BPAA). Doug, who runs a chain of six

Mr Wood launched the Woods

Estate Agency in 1992 and has branches in Clevedon, Portishead, Westbury-On-Trym, Stoke Gifford, Bradley Stoke and Yate. A firm advocate of the BPAA’s brief to build a positive image of Greater Bristol and promote investment into the city, he now plans to grow the association’s membership by consolidating the existing support and attracting more members from the residential sector. He said, “The association’s membership is drawn from a large number of businesses involved in all aspects of commercial and residential property and includes surveyors, solicitors, architects, engineers, developers and

contractors. “I am keen to broaden the association’s appeal and hope through my background and connections to ensure the city’s bustling residential sector achieves the effective representation as our colleagues from the commercial property sector.” The BPAA has more 280 full and

affiliated members and Doug is keen to boost membership to reflect the property sector’s significant contribution to the city’s economy.

MD Robert Hartley said, “The promotions and appointments over the last financial year reflect the ongoing growth, investment and development we are making to our business. “The last year has continued to be a struggle for the property market, and twelve months ago, we couldn’t have predicted that Derby, Leicester and Nottingham would be able to make any progress, but we have continued to attract new clients and to grow as a business. We are able to provide a wider service offering to our customers and we have healthy financial results to demonstrate our success. We couldn’t have achieved that without the hard work and contribution of the team.”
