Fitz-Gibbon’s Carolyn Walks the Walk
Organised by Walk the Walk, Carolyn Barrett of Fitz-Gibbon joined 17,000 men and women against breast cancer in May at the MoonWalk in London. “This is the fourth time I’ve
done the MoonWalk and it was surreal to hear 17,000 people singing Happy Birthday to me and others who celebrated our birthdays on the actual day”,
says Carolyn. “It was the London MoonWalk’s 15th Anniversary this year too so it was a really special time with an incredible atmosphere. The charity touches so many lives and has raised over £75 million to date. Their motto is to ‘raise money, raise awareness, get fi t and have fun’ and we certainly did. I started my 13.1 mile half
Waterfords take part in the Jubilee
The country joined together to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee and employees at Waterfords estate agents, who operate in Surrey and Berkshire, were no exception as the branches took part in an internal competition to win the glory of having the best decorated offi ce. Brendan Cox, MD of
Waterfords estate agents, announced the Camberley branch as the winners at the end of the celebrations on Wednesday 6th June.
Brendan comments, “Each
branch was given a £25 budget to adorn their offi ce with Union Jacks, and it was then all down to their imaginations and interior design skills! “On viewing photographic
evidence I felt that the Camberley branch had put together a very classy display. The team at the winning offi ce will receive a cash prize to spend as they wish. “At Waterfords, we enjoy running these types of fun
marathon at midnight and fi nished at 3.25am”. “Walk the Walk supports
substantial research into breast cancer and funds organisations which provide emotional and physical support for those living with breast cancer – including Breakthrough Breast Cancer, The Penny Brohn Cancer Care Centre and The Haven
Centre. Thanks to the grants generated, the NHS can now further help chemotherapy patients by providing Scalp Coolers in hospitals” she adds. Carolyn works at Fitz-
Gibbon HQ in St Margarets and donations can be made via the Walk the Walk website at www.

internally. It’s also a nice way to reward staff for their hard work, in this case over a long bank holiday weekend.”
