nPaparazzi!! We receive a huge amount of requests for onsite presence from press and media teams all over the world, in fact, so many that we have to control the number of media teams attending. Press & Media passes and badges are


issued that clearly identify officially permitted personnel in order to prevent a ‘paparazzi’ type situation. We fully understand and appreciate the desire to report on the event but we must maintain the best interests of competitors as our first priority, and it cannot be allowed to go unchecked. As responsible event organizers, fish care


and safety is of primary importance to us and we will not allow this to be compromised by overzealous media activity. Please report any such incidents to us so that action can be taken immediately.


nIn-house teams Our own media team will be on site to cover every aspect of the event as it happens, the team will also upload images and information onto the official website. All teams will display passes to identify them as approved Press and Media.


nWorld Carp Classic Film Crew A World Carp Classic Film Crew, familiar to previous contestants, will be on site throughout the event capturing VT on all aspects long before the opening ceremony and the peg draw to beyond the closing ceremony and prize giving. Your cooperation with this team is requested at all times... team personnel are fully aware of the boundaries and will not infringe upon any of the set guidelines. Daily video reports will be uploaded to the official website and youtube throughout the event.


nEvent updates There will be an ongoing catch report update on the event website as fish captures are reported to HQ. Every fish caught will be added as an unofficial result. The results will later be made official when the catch reports, which must be signed by both the angler and marshal, are verified at event HQ. Catch reports and information will also be uploaded to twitter and Facebook throughout the event.


nLIVE leader-board In the 2014 World Carp Classic a complete and topical overview of all the catches and statistics


will be accessible both in total and per team. Marshal’s will be working in pairs 24/7 and as soon as a carp is landed, the marshals will then note of all the relevant data; firstly using pen and paper onto the official catch report sheets and secondly using a smartphone. Depending on the quality of the GSM network they will, take and send pictures for the leader-board. An image of the fish as well as all relevant data will then be registered online and the information will be instantly available worldwide. We are confident in presenting a watertight and high- speed system, which will enable everyone including participants to check progress during the competition.


nLive TV It is our intention to have the opening ceremony and many other key parts of the event filmed and broadcast live. We have a team of specialist TV crew on site. Each evening there will be a dailiy highlights to capture all of the excitement and drama. You will be able to see the shows by visiting the World Carp Classic Website and clicking on the link.


nParticipate & Co-operate l It is important to remember that your cooperation with Official Media representatives is essential for publicity, not just for the benefit of the World Carp Classic, but also yours and your Sponsors.


l Official Media Personnel will be easily identifiable by the Press Pass badges they will display at all times. If anyone approaches you with requests for filming or photo work and they are not displaying a pass, and cannot produce one, you are not obliged to cooperate with them.


l Please also remember that the World Carp Classic ethos for fish welfare remains our highest priority. To aid in this respect, when preparing for an Official Media or Marshals photo shoot, please ensure that everything needed to provide sufficient fish welfare is there in place and subsequently used in the correct manner.


nYour preparation should include: l A suitably sized unhooking mat, mattress or cradle. A container filled with clean lake water to help cool the fish and keep it comfortable.


l A position of shade or dappled shade, if possible, in a position that provides a good backdrop for film and photography.


l Your peg board should be clearly visible in the capture shots and all clutter removed from the area and, finally, remember to record the details of your capture on the Official catch sheet.
