Father and son to compete at Bolsena


During the 24th to 27th of July this year, the first ever World Carp Classic UK Qualifying event took place on the famous and historic Wraysbury 1 – recently purchased by RK Leisure. The first prize of £8,000 and the


opportunity to compete at the World Carp Classic here in Bolsena was up for grabs in an extremely hotly contested and close event. In all, there were 56 carp caught during


the competition, with an average weight of 6.06 kg. Three of the original Wraysbury carp contributed to the 339.7kg overall total weight. Event winners, father and son duo Steve Leigh and Louis Leigh enjoyed outstanding success in capturing 16 fish for a winning weight of 106.8kg. The second placed pairing of David Ward and Adam Sharpe banked 10 carp for 73.9kg. The event Sponsored by Dynamite and

History in the making at South African event


The South Africa WCC qualifier took place in June this year at Tzaneen Dam at the town called Tzaneen. This year we we made history in the fact that we had our first black angler team that qualified for the final by the name of Alfred letwaba. Foto attach. The event produced quite nice fish and was

won by Zane Schlemmer and his wife with a total of weight of 86.06kg. The competition was very close the last two days as the top four peg positions changed at least three times. The heaviest carp caught was 16.21kg caught by Toy Nienaber. South Africa will be represented by three pegs; Peg 1 Kobus Lottering, Charles Horlick and Edwin Theron. Peg 2; Zane Schelemmer, Anel Schlemmer and Laythen Very and Peg 3, Johan Conradie, Devin Hansema and Adam Swannepoel.

The first Shimano-Dynamite Baits Prilbychi Open Cup took place in July this year at Lake Prilbychi, in the Lviv region of Ukraine to determine the team that will compete at the The World Carp Classic 2014. Twenty-two teams of top Ukrainian and foreign


carp anglers (Slovakia and Belarus champions) competed for over 96 hours against each other. “Tribal Team” finished first, with a total catch of


453.20kg (999lb) consisting of 81 fish. Second was “Hata Rybaka” - 394.07kg (869lb) with 87 fish and third place was Team “Students” with 262.69kg


(580lb) and 44 fish. Team “Parovoz” caught the biggest fish, a carp weighing 14.83kg (32lb. 10oz.) The total catch for the entire tournament was 733 fish weighing 3755.04kg (8278lb. 5oz). Sixteen teams beat the 100kg barrier and eight


teams caught more than 200kg of carp and grass carp. The average weight was 5.12 kg (11lb. 5oz.). One of the innovations of this tournament


was the individual sponsorship of each zone. The sponsor provided expensive prizes to the three best teams in their zone, along with cups and medals for the top three teams overall.
