• Handelsbanken Slough has appointed a new corporate manager in response to increasing demand for its local relationship banking services. David Squire has over 31 years of banking experience – the past 20 years working with corporate customers in the Thames Valley. He will be involved in developing existing customer relationships as well as welcoming new corporate customers to Handelsbanken’s bespoke approach to local banking.
• Thames Valley and South Coast accountants and business advisers James Cowper has strengthened its corporate finance team with the appointment of Caleb Lewington. Lewington joined the award winning team in August. With over eight years experience in the corporate finance market, he joined from Serco's commercial finance team where he worked across high-profile bids, M&A projects and developing commercial propositions across a range of sectors including defense, transport,
healthcare and home affairs business units. Prior to this, he was manager at Grant Thornton corporate finance team in Southampton.
• Mark Whalley has joined EY as an assistant director to lead the fraud investigation and dispute services department in Reading. Whalley joins from Deloitte where he spent seven years as part of its forensic team. He has a broad cross-section of experience in fraud investigation and dispute services, having worked on a variety of dispute and investigation matters.
• KPMG has promoted James Ledward to partner in its Reading team. Ledward has been with KPMG for 16 years and advises a wide range of companies in the Thames Valley, from owner-managed businesses to listed overseas groups. He specialises in providing external and internal audit advice and advises clients buying and selling businesses on their transactions.
• The AWE ML board has announced the appointment
of Kevin Bilger as managing director, AWE Plc. Bilger joins the organisation from Lockheed Martin (LM), where he was most recently vice president, programmes and quality for Space Systems Company. In this role, Bilger has been responsible for programme management, programme planning, supply chain management and quality assurance across a broad portfolio of space and missile systems business.
