Geographers explore Morocco T
he Year 10 Geographers spent the May half term exploring Morocco and collecting data for their fieldwork.
The aim of the expedition was to collect a wide range of river data in the High Atlas Mountains for the GCSE Geography Controlled Assessment. The scenery was particularly beautiful in the early morning and at sunset, and it enabled us to witness a variety of geographical features and processes.
There was also ample opportunity to explore the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of Marrakech, as well as camel rides and a caleche journey around the ancient Medina. The tranquillity of the Bahair Palace in central Marrakech was a pleasant antidote to the hustle and bustle of the city. Our girls didn’t shy away from the opportunity of “haggling” in the souks of Djemaa El Fna Square; all returned home with bargains and a host of great memories.
