The delighted audience followed the performers, accompanied by minstrels from the Music Department, as the action unfolded in four scenic locations across the School site. There were deeply moving performances from Head Girl Amelia Gabriel as Hermionefrom The Winter’s Tale, Summer Balfour as a tragically beautiful Cleopatraand Kitty Evans- Smith as a bewitching Lady Macbeth. Comedy was provided by Issy Goatcher as a very welsh Nurse and Daisy Gould’s exasperated Juliet. Chloe Bolger, Amanda McHugh and Olivia Austin played Beatrice, Heroand Ursulain the eavesdropping scene from ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ to much hilarity and Eleanor Hervieu’sKate (Taming of the Shrew) was not to be trifled with!

Providing the ‘ahhh’ factor were the fairies, Annalise Dodson and Charlotte Cluff, both beautifully clear in the chapel garden, and Eleanor O’Conor as Lady Macduff’sson, horribly murdered in the Concert Hall!

The three witches from ‘Macbeth’, Chloe Bolger, Lou Lou Hurel and Millie Heywood appeared as if from nowhere, scaring the audience and adding extra menace to Lady Macbeth’spowerful incantations.

Costumes, hair and make-up were courtesy of the Drama Department and all the girls looked wonderful.

Many thanks to all who contributed, including the Catering Department who provided Ale, Juice of the Apple and Shakespearean snacks each evening. Thanks also to those who ran front of house and Marketing.
