"Letters" continued from page 8

...had members who were re- spectful and polite, and didn’t bully or display adolescent, rude behavior. If this were to happen, the Or-

ange Unified School Board would look a lot different. Candidates Florice Hoffman and Tim Perez would replace Timothy Surridge and Rick Ledesma; incumbent Kathy Moffat would be re-elected; un-opposed Diane Singer would return; and the board would be back on course, ensuring that our students are getting the first class education they deserve.

A nickel's worth

Dear Editor: A couple months ago I was not

feeling too good about the 2014 Orange City Council race. The three candidates running were individuals that had consistently

supported out of town investors. All had received large campaign donations from the developer in past elections. All voted for de- veloper-driven projects totally ig- noring neighborhood and citizen concerns. None of these individ- uals had a stake in the communi- ties that were being impacted by their votes. Our great City of Or- ange needed a better candidate, one that is NOT developer driven. Finally we have that candidate. Kim Nichols, president of the Or- ange Public Library Foundation, decided to run. I am impressed with Kim’s background and ser- vice to our great city. Kim has passion to make things better and work collaboratively. She knows the city well and is exactly what we need for our city council. Kim Nichols is a team player and will only add value to our city. Grim has turned to hope now that we have a new face and an excellent candidate. I am anxious to vote on Nov. 4.
