Karl Kreutziger

Karl Kreutziger has been a resident of Villa Park for the past 14 years. He is a graduate of Can- yon High School and Cal State University, Long Beach with a B.S. in construction engineering management. Karl is president of Driver SPG, a general con- tracting firm, which is currently building several major projects in Orange County, including the Discovery Science Center and Newport Beach Country Club. Karl’s experience in leading a successful firm consists of stra- tegic planning and fiscal respon- sibility. Karl often deals with government and city agencies during the planning, design and construction of projects. Karl’s company’s values and culture are centered on the communities his employees live in, demonstrated by donating resources, time and money to nonprofits. Karl supports more than a

dozen nonprofits, and sits on the board of directors for HomeAid, a group that builds shelters for the homeless. Karl's leadership skills, commitment to helping others, knowledge of planning and architecture, and ability to communicate will strengthen our city council by working together to solve issues in our commu- nity.

Diana Fascenelli I currently am Mayor Pro Tem

for the City of Villa Park. I have been a Villa Park resident since 2002, and my husband Frederick grew up here. We chose to move to Villa Park to raise our family because of its small-town charm and community participation. My background includes a B.A. in business and my employment has focused on finance within the agrigulture, insurance and pet in- dustries. My community involvement is extensive. I sit on the City’s Trans- portation & Utilities, Community Development and School com- mittees. Having three children at Cerro Villa Middle School, my time is spent serving on school site councils and fundraising. I belong to the Villa Park Women’s League and volunteer for the Villa Park Community Services Foun- dation. Having embraced my seat on the council, my priorities have been to enhance the safety of resi- dents and the beauty of the City by making fundamental changes to maintain VP’s quality of life. My background in finance, management and schools puts me in a unique position to evaul- ate proposals that the City often faces. With your trust to re-elect me, I may continue to serve the residents of Villa Park.

Restoration Project— recognized as a Project of the Year by the American Society of Civil Engi- neers; past president, American Public Works Association, SoCal chapter; founded the California Stormwater Quality Association, which helps local governments to comply with federal and state mandates while containing costs.

Bill Nelson I have been involved in Villa

Park government for many years, as chair of the Villa Park Invest- ment Advisory Committee and treasurer of the Villa Park Com- munity Services Foundation. As chair of the investment committee, I helped to devise a conservative investment strategy that significantly improved the City’s returns and restored addi- tional monies to the general fund. As board member and treasurer

of the Community Services Foun- dation, I was involved in Villa Park’s 50th anniversary celebra- tion and gala, as well as numer- ous other community activities. I was appointed by Supervi-

sor Bill Campbell as a trustee of a Special District. As chair of that board, I was instrumental in the district being recognized as a District of Distinction and re- ceiving the District Transparency Certificate of Excellence. I have also been recognized as a leader in special district governance by the Special District Leadership Foundation. I also have served over 25

years as a financial executive for ARCO and Southern California Gas Company. I earned a B.A. in economics from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and an MBA in finance from USC.

As councilman, I will stand for

fiscal responsibility, public safety and protecting home values. I will listen to your concerns and will work to develop a business plan that addresses them.

Serrano Water District candidates will be featured in the October Sentry.

Stephen Miller Stephen and Birgit Miller moved

to East Orange in 1985, and into Villa Park in 2001. They raised son Matthew in public schools; were parent leaders in sports, OUSD, and Scouts; and have vol- unteered for VPWL and VPCSF. Educated at Purdue and USC, Stephen’s computer engineering career has placed him in techni- cal and management positions in manufacturing, aerospace, finan- cial modeling, and internet cloud services. If elected, Steve looks forward

to Villa Park’s City Council as a unique chance to combine people skills with complex issues in a volunteer setting. He is a handyman with expe-

rience in both Orange and Villa Park where proper city planning has strengthened property values. After some years of work on a home in Linda Vista, the Millers moved “across the creek” to a home in Villa Park, which could benefit from their attention. Steve has experience in the out-

doors and Orange County’s open space through Scouts and personal adventures. He has watched our rural heritage be diminished over time and would like to help Villa Park balance pressures regarding cost, development and service.

Sanjay Khetani Family and close friends know

him as Sanjay Khetani. In the professional and business world he’s simply known as “Jay.” Jay has been living in Southern Cali- fornia since 1971, and has resided in Villa Park for 12 years. After studying business finance,

he has worked in the hospitality and food service industry for over 30 years. He’s successfully owned and operated various franchise businesses. Jay’s current business manufactures healthy packaged meals for clinics, seniors and per- sonal trainers. With years of ex- perience and financial expertise, he is an advisor and consultant for many clients. Jay has been on the executive board of multiple companies, associations and is a co-founder of a nonprofit orga- nization. Jay’s financial business acumen, leadership experience and exceptional communications- public speaking skills qualify him for councilman. Villa Park is a permanent home

for Jay and his wife Sadhana. They have two children, Jayson and Jessica, who graduated from Villa Park schools. As a council- man, Jay’s priorities are to ensure safety, security and maintain the beauty of the magnificent city of Villa Park, “The Hidden Jewel.”

Not too soon to consider . . . Adopt a Marine

from Camp Pendleton for Thanksgiving dinner. These recruits are far away from home, and Villa Park needs more area families to adopt a Marine or three, and share Thanksgiving. You will pick up and return these young women and men to Ral- phs at Santiago/Wanda. Please sign up at www. villaparkmarinethanksgiving.org.
