The Odyssey of Macon’s Dave Peck and Birth of Maconga City Limits

have met over the past ten years, Dave Peck would certainly make the list. Let’s see, he’s a former Army Specialist E-4 infantryman; a


few peace rallies, even in recent years. He’s an outspoken advocate of marijuana legalization, and his house - which he calls “the com- pound” - is a located down a dirt road. When you get there, there are hand painted anti-war signs out front at the gate that have changed over the years, depending on the battles he found himself fighting at any given time. Out of all this, the thing


that drew me to Peck was his love of great music, from The Allman Brothers Band to Tommy Talton, and his un- deniable favorite, Chris Hicks, the former member of The Outlaws and current long-time member of The Marshall Tucker Band (and a terrific solo artist). That, and the fact that Peck is ob- sessed with recording as many great live concerts for posterity as possible. Over the years, he has filmed shows by Gregg Allman, Percy Sledge, Hank III, Wet Willie, and countless others. Currently, he has partnered
