Young Entrepreneur deadline extended

The Haines Watts Young Entrepreneur of the Year competition deadline has been extended to Tuesday, September 30, so there’s still time to enter and grab this amazing opportunity.

The extended deadline gives more young entrepreneurs the chance to win some great prizes, including a year’s free mentoring and business support from a partner, cash and free publicity for their business.

The free business mentoring may prove invaluable, particularly as Haines Watts is a top 15 firm of chartered accountants who already support over 35,000 companies and business owners around the UK. The firm has recently won the title ‘Accountancy Firm of the Year – SMEs’, at the annual FDs’ Excellence Awards and this follows awards for ‘Auditor of the Year: SMEs’ in the previous two years.

So why not have a go?

Young entrepreneurs from all walks of life have entered and succeeded

in the past four years that the competition has been running. In 2013 the winner was 17-year-old Jack Greetham with his business Just Right Goods. Other finalists were Katy Hymas of Mumlin, Carina Evans of Dog Rocks Distribution and Alex Minchin of Zest Digital.

The competition is free, open to candidates who are 35 or under and covers the whole Thames Valley area, defined as Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Oxfordshire.

There is no lower age limit but candidates must have been running their business for at least a year and must be able to provide sound financial information.

Semi-finalists will be chosen in the autumn before the finals in Reading on November 5.

If you can’t enter yourself but you know someone who might be interested in applying pass on the contact details opposite.
