L’ORTOLAN Reading’s Michelin-starred restaurant
With its beautiful grounds and elegant setting L’Ortolan is a favourite destination for special occasions and business entertaining. Just five minutes from J11 of the M4, the restaurant is easily accessible from all over the Thames Valley.
Executive chef Alan Murchison has held a Michelin star at L’Ortolan for 12 years. The restaurant also has four AA rosettes and is currently ranked 75th in the Sunday Times top 100 restaurants in the UK.
Murchison’s modern French cuisine is presented with incredible artistry and precision, reflecting the passion that goes into each dish. Look out for delights such as roast loin and braised shoulder of lamb with caramelised sweetbreads, pommes anna, peas, broad beans, anchovies & rosemary sauce, or, elderflower panna cotta with compressed strawberry and poached strawberry sorbet.
Lunchtime menus start at £28 for the two-course menu du jour, £32 for three courses. Lunch and evening diners can choose from the a la carte or from one of the spectacular tasting menus (vegetarian version available), all of which can be accompanied by a flight of wines selected by our sommelier.
