With towns the length and breadth of the county hosting a variety of entertaining seasonal productions, there is no excuse to miss the best acting performances you will see all year. And before you disagree: “Oh yes they are!”


Jack And The Beanstalk


Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury Featuring everything you love about Marlowe Theatre pantomimes, the show will again be written and directed by Paul Hendy. EastEnders star Samantha Womack will be joined on stage by Phil Gallagher (CBeebies’ Mister Maker) and, back by popular demand, the much-loved Marlowe favourites, Ben Roddy and Lloyd Hollett. With plenty of family comedy, lots of audience participation, brilliant song and dance numbers, stunning sets and breathtaking special effects (there’s even a breakdancing pantomime cow!), Jack And The Beanstalk promises the biggest and best in family entertainment. Cinderella Orchard Theatre, Dartford Bradley Walsh, who played Danny Baldwin in Coronation Street, will be leading the cast in this enchanting tale of rags to riches. A magical production of comedy, stunning sets, fabulous costumes and pantomime magic sees Cinderella swap her rags for a ball gown as she heads to the ball. Bradley, who starred in Mike Bassett: England Manager, presents game show The Chase and The Celebrity Chase, and has also been filming the eighth series of Law & Order: UK. Orchard Theatre director Chris Glover said: “He is one of the country’s leading entertainers and a household name, and I’m sure our patrons will be thrilled to watch him on stage. “Last year we were overwhelmed with the number of letters and emails from customers telling us how much they loved the panto and we are confident that Cinderella is going to be as much fun.” December 14 2013 – January 4 2014


Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs


Central Theatre, Chatham Evolution Productions returns with a spectacular, hilarious, fun- packed, family pantomime. It stars Sam Attwater (Leon Small in EastEnders


Dick Whittington


Hazlitt Arts Centre, Maidstone In a true rags to riches story, our hero Dick Whittington, played by Any Dream Will Do runner-up Keith Jack, travels to London in search of fame and fortune. On his way he meets a magical cat who helps him gain work with the wealthy Alderman Fitzwarren and his beautiful daughter Alice, played by CBeebies presenter Cerrie Burnell. Dick then makes friends with madcap Idle Jack and Sarah the Cook, played by local boy Jimmy Burton Iles, who, with a little help from the magical fairy, make all of Dick’s dreams come true. Will Dick marry Alice and become Lord Mayor of London? Or will the evil Queen Rat take over the capital and become Lord Mayoress herself? Blue Genie Entertainment returns to present a show packed with great songs, amazing dance routines and plenty of laughter for all the family.

Jack and the Beanstalk

Cinderella Leas Cliff Hall, Folkestone Directed by Bob Osborne and produced by Neil Hunnisett, the show will be packed with all your favourite characters including Buttons, the Fairy Godmother, the Ugly Sisters and, of course, the beautiful Cinderella.
