SECTOR FOCUS: LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT
work-ready candidates into employment. These centres are equipped with purpose-made facilities and provide jobseekers with practical, sector-specific work experience, skills, training, vocational qualifications and accreditation across a range of sectors. These include catering, construction, warehousing, forklift operation, health and fitness, beauty and therapy, office administration, security and retail. Our delivery model encourages an active inclusion and participation of employers to identify, fill and sustain job opportunities. We identify the specific needs of a business and design a placement and support programme to match these requirements. By developing joint training initiatives and job matching services, we are able to tailor our services to meet the needs of our customers for the employer.

Central to the success of placing customers back into work is the support we provide for our partner organisations in particular. Under the Work Programme, we provide access for Host Employers to set up their own workplace areas in our Employment Centres to replicate real business activities, providing real in-house work experience for customers.
The size and nature of our Employment Centres means that internal layouts can be readily restructured and reconfigured, removing or adding partitions and introducing new workplace units to adapt to the specific needs of our Host Employers. This enables organisations to observe and assess the candidates that want to work with them. As part of the set-up, EOS will provide on-the-job training, guidance and support for customers, providing equipment, facilities and floor space at no cost. This gives employers the confidence and security of knowing that their work is being done in an environment that meets their standards and deadlines.
Customers are then assessed for aptitude and ability, and given the opportunity to develop their skills under the supervision of professional trainers. These facilities are particularly valuable to young people in making career choices and for mature adults needing to re-train.
EOS also provides a bespoke service to manage every element of the recruitment process. Our highly skilled and dedicated teams have a wealth of experience and specialist knowledge within their
OS operates six established Employment Centres which offers businesses in Birmingham, Solihull and the Black Country a free solution to sourcing, training and placing
own fields of account management. We work with the employers to identify their recruitment needs, short-list high calibre candidates and provide them with the essential support and job-readiness skills to specifically match their requirements. Each tailor- made training programme will ensure that jobseekers are fully re-integrated into the pattern of working life and job-ready for their new role. Once a candidate is successfully placed into
employment, we provide ongoing support to ensure new employees are successfully integrated into the workforce to ensure the long-term sustainability of the placement. A recruitment agency would extract a fee for this type of service, however our model allows us to provide this tailored service free of charge. EOS also encompasses the Wage Incentive Scheme as part of the Youth Contract, aimed at assisting employers with job opportunities for 18-24 year-olds, and certified skills courses for anyone aged 19 and over. The scheme aims to reduce employee set-up costs when expanding their businesses, and is supported by the government as part of the Youth Contract. An incentive payment of up to £2,275 per young person is available to an employer once the employee has completed 26 weeks in continuous employment (qualifying period).
EOS also delivers the Support for Families programme in Yorkshire, Humberside and the West Midlands to help families and lone parents overcome the problems of long-term unemployment, while identifying and addressing domestic and social issues that may otherwise be a barrier to finding work.
EOS director of operations Debra Jackson said: “EOS is always interested in hearing from new companies that would like to find out more about offering enthusiastic and highly motivated people work experience within their organisations. Work experience placements are highly rewarding for both our customers and employers, and we do our very best to ensure that both parties gain as much as they can from their time together with EOS. “By developing joint training initiatives and support programmes we are able to tailor our services through a combination of intensive job search support, comprehensive vacancy matching services, skills development, in-work support, and work experience using real workplace areas within each of our Employment Centres.”
EOS offers jobseekers practical work experience, skills training, vocational qualifications and accreditation across a range of sectors. For more information about how your organisation can benefit from our free services, contact EOS direct.
