Solihull Chamber of Commerce

Our strength as a local chamber is driven by the existing vibrant business community who are passionate about the success of Solihull, and the opportunities to develop through partnerships and stakeholders. Solihull Chamber has developed a number of new initiatives to

support and engage with the business community. Sector groups have been developed which include Manufacturing and Engineering, Construction and Professional Services. These groups will be run by the members in conjunction with the Chamber supporting the aspirations of these businesses. Subject groups currently address transport in the borough (Solihull Transport Platform) and Client Relationship issues. This year in the Borough sees the opening of the long awaited Airport runway extension, along with a new air traffic control tower. These will help attract more flights and airlines to new destinations. The Parkgate Retail development has been completed, and Resorts World at the NEC continues to develop with a 2015 opening date. UK Central is a project to bring together assets in the centre of the UK around the M42 corridor.

A cross sector group of Chamber Ambassador’s address issues and concerns generated by the current economic climate. The local agent for the Bank of England attends these meetings, using the discussions in his report to the Monetary Policy Committee. These issues are also communicated to stakeholders, partners and policy makers.
