Celebrating 62 Years!

Great Lakes Contractors Pat Carter Trail Challenge Mike Tucker Herb Towers

Founding member of the WHAO and retired WHA Sr. Judge

By Lindsay Farrell-John- son.

Well we have finally

found spring!!! At least I think we have. It has cer- tainly been an unusual year so far. A winter so cold and long that we all want to

forget it and a spring that never seems to come. I would have made sure to enjoy spring if I had real- ized it was only going to last 3 days!!!! We have had almost 2 weeks of daily rain here and with living on

Haldimand clay we have had almost no chance to ride. We have been look- ing forward to show season this year but it doesn’t seem like we will ever make it there. I personally haven’t

had much of a chance to ride since my husband Clifton and I welcomed our little bundle of joy on Fri- day April 18th at 5:25pm. At that moment our lives changed forever!!! We welcomed William Wyburn Johnson into our family and surprisingly everything else was put on the back burner. In the last 5 weeks we have lost a lot of sleep but have gained a new perspective on life.

Everyone always tells

L. Walter & Sons

Excavating

you that your life will change but you never know how much until that little bundle of joy arrives. Sud- denly the things that you took for granted become a big deal and difficult to accomplish. Like going for a ride, deciding at the spur of the moment to go out for supper, or heck, having a shower and drying your hair! But I am not com- plaining. I love this little man and I can’t wait for each new chapter of our story to unfold. Just wait… It won’t be long and you will see a new face in Lead- line!!!

Speaking of showing

our first show is quickly approaching. Extravaganza will be held on Saturday June 21st.

That is

correct! We have changed the format to a single day show. Our judges for the day are Kelly Lehman and Jamie Kuhl. Please take the time to go onto our face- book

page

Here are the show rules and class list: • All classes will be run under WHAO rules. • Exhibitors do not need to be members of the WHAO. Non-members must pay a $5 day fee, per day, per exhibitor, to compete. • It is recommended that exhibitors obtain and bring proof of liability insurance. • Entries can be made in advance and emailed to Kit Bartle drumbolady@hot- mail.ca • Entry fees to be paid by cheque or money order and made payable to Western Horse Association of Ontario or cash in person.

An equipment/admin fee of $5 per horse is applicable. Entry fees are noted on class list. • Non-mandatory classes with less than 3 exhibitors will not be run and entry fees for those classes will be returned to the exhibitor • Double show format: This show will be double judged, which means you pay two entry fees, get judged by two judges, earn points under both judges and receive paybacks based on each judges placing. • For all classes you will show your horse once in that class and be judged or timed based on that single run. • For performance classes that use a pattern, each judge will award a score based on that pattern. The judges’ scores could be dif- ferent which would result in different placings. • For speed classes, you will receive one time which will count under both judges’ placings. Therefore, you will receive the same plac- ing under both judges.
