Inpatient plan
A NEW 18-bed inpatient hospital facility for younger adults could be built in Priority House, Hermitage Lane, Maidstone. The single-storey buildingwould
see the relocation of a generator within a new compound. Maid- stone Council will determine the planning application.

Grammar school head wins county award
A MAIDSTONE head has been voted Kent head teacher 2014 at the Kent Teacher of the Year awards ceremony. Julie Derrick, from Invicta Gram-
mar School in Huntsman Lane,was chosen by a panel of judges from all the local authority areas in the county from nominations submit- ted by students, parents and staff. Shewas voted top headteacher in
the Maidstone area – and overall winner for the county. At the same ceremony, Invicta Grammar’s Krisztina Zaborszky won the award for top maths teacher in the Maidstone area.
Acolleague who nominated Miss Zaborszky said: “Krisztina’s les- sons are in- spirational. She has high stan- dards, pas- sion and a genuine love of her subject of mathemat- ics.

Garden open for hospice
THE owners of Woodside, at 10 HoltwoodAvenue,Aylesford, are opening their garden from 11am to 4pm on Sunday, July 13, to raise money for the Heart of Kent Hospice. The cottage garden offers paths
and walkways surrounded by mixed borders, wisteria and rho-
dodendrons. Refreshments and plants will be on sale. There is no wheelchair access and dogs are not allowed. The suggested donation for
