WELCOME TO THE HUB

the most wonderful secrets about Winnipeg and Manitoba, and the Winnipeg Richardson International Airport. It is said that once you’ve been to

W

Winnipeg, captivation follows, and that has been my experience. No matter where I go in the world, I never fail to bump into someone who can’t wait to tell me about how they spent the best days of their lives here – and how they long to come back. To a large extent, Te Hub is all about this pride: the pride we all feel about our city and our province, and the way it is exemplified in this beautiful new airport. Whether you live here, are just passing through or staying for a longer visit, we hope Te Hub will help bring you under the special spell that this “heart-beat” of the continent casts on so many who have been here.

It is also our aim to help you discov-

er how in touch we are with the world. We want Te Hub to be the string that lets you wander to all sorts of won- derful destinations but always with a connection that guides you back. Te Hub will help you get to know this airport, and how convenient and pleasant it is to experience as part of your journey as opposed to making it your jumping-off place to some- where else. We want to show you all the amenities and introduce you to the warm-hearted people: the courte- ous and helpful first-line of service staff, such as the Goldwing volunteer ambassadors, as well as the folks who work behind the scenes. Tis is still Friendly Manitoba, after all. Take this copy of the magazine with

you. Show it to your friends. Order a subscription at (TeHub@pegasuspub- lications.net). Send us your comments and ideas. We would love to hear from you.

I

t is with great pride that I welcome you into the pages of the first edition of Te Hub! When we first conceived of this

magazine, we imagined a publication that would connect us with everyone who passes through our airport and a place where we could share our stories with our travellers. We hope this magazine will provide

you with an insider’s perspective to Winnipeg Richardson International Airport and will cater to all travellers, whether you are visiting Manitoba for the first time and looking for things to do, or you are a Manitoban who is looking to head off somewhere tropical.

Tis magazine will also allow us to

give you a behind-the-scenes look at what really makes our airport tick, showcasing our team, our services and our community. It’s easy to get caught up in the beauty of our new terminal but there is so much more to our airport than just a stunning space, and we want to give all of you a sense of the team that is involved in operating an airport. We would like to thank the team at

Pegasus Publications Inc. for making our dream come to life. Tey have been invaluable in helping us create an engaging magazine that captures the spirit of Winnipeg Richardson International Airport.
