improving confidence in South Hams

Property Market by Sarah-Jane Bingham-Chick, Savills Exeter

I

t appears that spring has finally sprung in the South Hams! Our South Hams department has had a terrific start to the year with the level of instructions and sales outperforming all our predictions!

Confidence in the property market is at its highest for some time, with many buyers across all price levels deciding the time is right to find their dream home in South Devon. This was very apparent by the level of enquiries we received on two recent instructions. Firstly, we were appointed as sole agents to sell Soundings, a three bedroom detached house in

Soundings Riverside Road, Dittisham TQ6 0HS

Dittisham with gardens gently sweeping down to the banks of the River Dart. It was the first time the house

had been on the market in over 60 years and we were overwhelmed with the response. Following a very successful worldwide marketing campaign, we invited all interested parties to submit their best and final offer to us, which resulted in a sale being agreed considerably in excess of the guide of £1 million.

This level of enthusiasm is clearly

seen across the board, with a similar level of enquiries being received for Sanders Barn, an idyllic barn in Stoke Fleming with superb sea views and planning permission for conversion to a live/work home. All interested parties were invited to submit their best and final offer to us by 12 noon 30th April.

If you have a house to sell in the South Hams and feel we could be of assistance, we would love to hear from you. In the first instance please call SJ Chick on 01392 455 743
