MAKE IT MAIDSTONE MAKE IT PROSPEROUS

Maidstone Borough Council is working to fight the effects of the recession and bring prosperity to the borough. We help residents with housing and council tax benefits, heating and insulation grants, home improvement grants, and by support for organisations which offer money advice.

More investment for

Maidstone Town Centre The Maidstone High Street Regeneration Scheme has been a fantastic boost for the town centre, bringing in more jobs and drawing in visitors thanks to regular events on Jubilee Square.

Maidstone council is now planning to bring improvements to three more areas of the town centre, including the pedestrianisation of Earl Street and the creation of a new public space in front of the Hazlitt Theatre. This will allow restaurants and cafes along Earl Street to set up outdoor seating, making Maidstone an ideal place for a night out.

Improvements will also be made to Gabriel’s Hill and Week Street to extend the clean, modern feel of the High Street out to the rest of the town centre, boosting Maidstone’s reputation as one of the best shopping centres in Kent.

Contributions from new developments will help to bring these schemes forward over the coming years - updates will be provided in future editions of Borough Update.
