www.entrycentral.com/chariots A glorious five-kilometre run out and back along the stunning West Sands in St Andrews, home to the iconic opening scene from Chariots of Fire, filmed there in 1981. In homage, runners wear all white and start and finish to the strains of Vangelis. Pleasure follows pain with a deli- cious fudge doughnut and bottle of local beer awaiting the runners at the finish line.
FIFE GARDEN FESTIVAL 7-8 June Various venues

There will be something for everyone: rolling acres and pocket handkerchiefs; exciting structures and glorious confusion; community gardens; country house and cottage gardens; horticul- tural gems; and colourful cottage favourites. BRITISH SUPERBIKES KNOCKHILL 40TH ANNIVERSARY ROUND 27-29 June Knockhill Racing Circuit, Saline, Dunfermline
