You tell us about your Career Confidence


At Milkround, we are always looking for insights into what is affecting the lives of students and graduates. Our candidates concerns are our concern, and so we conduct various surveys and polls to gauge how you feel about certain topics.


One of our largest pieces of research has just been completed, the Milkround Career Confidence Survey in association with Allianz. We asked students and graduates from all year groups to tell us how they feel about their future careers, as well as other important influences such


as the economy, and tuition fees, enabling us to provide you with the best resources to tackle your career fears. So what were this year’s findings?


You’re optimistic about your career but worried about money


We asked you to rank how you felt on various topics whether optimistic, pessimistic or neutral, with some surprising results.


Half of you told us you were optimistic about your future career prospects – brilliant news to us as our mission is to make you feel positive about it. The not-so- brilliant news is that a lot of you were really worried about money.


The economy made 42% of you feel pessimistic, with student debt and university fees providing similar results.


Whilst over half of you told us that student debt was having no impact on how you made decisions about your career, the issue was obviously still playing on your mind, and perhaps having more of an impact than you realised.


Your career confidence in one word: we asked you to tell us one word which summarised how you felt about your future career prospects, and undeniably the most popular responses were “depressed, overwhelmed,
