MSC PUBLIC HEALTH PROMOTION AT LEEDS METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY
We have been providing specialist postgraduate health promotion training for over forty years, and have always kept up to date with the dynamic changes taking place in public health in the UK and globally. Our course develops the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to promote and protect public health and wellbeing within communities. Focusing on the social
determinants of health, the course equips students to fulfil a variety of roles in health promotion and public health, working in any organisation that has a role in health improvement. We have a large, experienced group of staff with an international reputation for teaching and research in health promotion. The Centre for Health Promotion
Research has a track record for its evaluation work, research with communities, commitment to tackling inequalities in health, and providing an evidence base for practice. The course team
publishes widely in the health promotion field.
Students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and countries, providing the
opportunity to share experiences, learn from each other and develop collaborative practice. Our graduates will be able

Our students find jobs as health improvement/health promotion specialists, public health consultants, and generally wherever there is a health and wellbeing role. The course is also recognised by the Institute of Health Promotion and Education.
