WORLDS OF AMBITION
Middlesex University is the natural home for ambitious postgraduate students. We combine a focus on academic achievement with a practical attitude and a global outlook. In other words, we cover three worlds... the academic world, the real world and the whole world. This is what sets us apart. Worlds apart.
THE ACADEMIC WORLD Forget our £200 million investment in lecture theatres,
laboratories
and studios. Ignore our 24/7 library with over 1,000 study areas and computer spaces. They’re useful, but they’re not what Middlesex is about. Our focus is academic excellence.
As part of a campaign to reinforce our academic reputation, we’ve recently recruited over 170 academics. All are outstanding thinkers, researchers and, importantly,
teachers. All share
our ambition to make Middlesex a world-class centre for learning and research across a wide range of subject areas, from art and design, business and health and education; to law, media and performing arts and science and technology.
THE REAL WORLD We place great importance on
Worlds of opportunity
MA International Relations student, Olumuyiwa Aseda, won a place on the United Nations internship scheme, spending several weeks at the UN headquarters in New York. “Our tutors encouraged us to apply for intern- ships to gain practical experience. I met world leaders and was provided with a valuable networking forum.”
academic excellence; however we’re also determined to make a lasting impression on the real world. To us, the purpose of knowledge and learning is to make a difference to the lives of real people. Our ambition is to drive positive change by making an impact on society, business and the wider world.
Our courses are created with industry and employers, enabling our students to easily transition into the real world upon graduation. Which is why we’re ranked amongst the top UK universities for graduate salaries*. We prepare our students for the outside world with employability and self-employment services ranging from one-to-one support, workshops and mentoring; to a scheme providing work and intern opportunities. In this way, as in many others, we guide students on their journey from course to real world career.
THE WHOLE WORLD Middlesex. London. The World. We have campuses in three continents and our London students represent more than 140 countries. Outside the UK, more than 10,000 students are studying on Middlesex programmes. The world is our campus.
London is truly the world in one city, and our north London location gives students easy access to this centre of commerce and creativity, offering a world of opportunities. From placements and business links to cultural events and a fantastic social scene, London itself is one of the world’s greatest learning resources.
At our London campus, one of the biggest in the capital, we celebrate cultural diversity. Students gain the insight and cultural understanding to compete in a global job market, while making friendships and connections all over the world.
