The Observer 4108 hybrid DVR records both analog and high-definition IP video, GPS and metadata for up to eight video or audio channels. It provides weeks of video storage and redundant recording with an optional 32GB or 64GB solid-state drive. It also includes a small external recording piece that is glass, fire and explosion proof, as well as an event button for the driver to easily tag recorded events. The Observer 4108 features cellular and Wi-Fi connectivi- ty; vehicle tracking; automatic download of events; system health status and firmware upgrades; and real-time live look-in via stationary computer and Android/iPhone applications.

This Web-based system was spe- cifically designed to communicate time-sensitive information to par- ents, students, school administra- tors, transportation staff and other district personnel via text message, phone call or e-mail. It allows trans- portation-related messages to be sent quickly, with a few clicks of the mouse, when a bus is delayed or there is severe weather, traffic tie-ups, unsafe driving conditions, an accident or other emergency. Bus Bulletin can also notify parents and students of a substitute bus, a rescheduled route or when a spe- cific bus may be late to a stop.

Mobility Ventures LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of AM General, has released the MV-1, the first factory-built vehicle designed specifically to accommodate wheel- chairs and other mobility aids. Each MV-1 is built from the ground up to be universally accessible, meeting and exceeding the guidelines of the Americans with Disabilities


Act (ADA). The MV-1 also gives the option to go “green,” with a dedicated, factory- engineered and -installed compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel system. The three-tank system has an estimated 290-mile range, offering the benefits of lower fuel costs and lower emissions without sacrificing cargo space.
