petite but one giant ball of fun. We can’t wait for everyone to see the new cast of queens in action. They are all pro-pro-professionals. Daisy:Thank you to everyone who
made it out to #1 fifth Avenue on Thursday, February 20 to celebrate my birthday at theGolden Chicks Show. Thanks to my sister’s Barbarah and Jessica for performing and always giving me your support. And to my fellow cast members! You guys always put on a fantastic show.
ENOUGH ABOUT THE PAST! LET’S SEE WHAT MARCH HAS TO OFFER:
Continuing with the theme of queens, crowns and fun, the first everMiss Gay Golden State USofA pageant is taking placeSunday, March 16 at the Lafayette Hotel. We love the fact that all the San Diego queens have a new title to reach for. It promises to be a fun night and a new fantastic event for all to enjoy. Jessica:We wish the all the girls the

IT’S MARCHALREADY…. REALLY???
This year is moving too fast and
we’re not so happy about that. We want more time to enjoy all the events, the people and the shoes! Daisy: With only 28 days in
February, we had to pack a lot into one short month. I traveled to Palm Springs during President’s Day weekend to be with the bears at the first International Bear Convergence and forPalm Spring’s Modernism Week. I’m still recovering from five days of endless events. I made some good connections with some very fun bearsalong the way, some cubs and otters (oh my!) and a couple of hunters. I’m thinking this is going to be a yearly getaway. I was treated like

the queen of the bears—girl could get used to that. Back in San Diego,Tantrums
and Tiaras is a drag pageant for people who don’t normally do drag. And ladies it’s harder than it looks strutting across the stage in high heels, especially when it’s not your thing. Congratulations to Miss Urban Mo’s Michael Calles for taking home the crown. So much fun, all the contestants could have been crowned because they were all talented and entertaining, and the money raised that evening all went to The Center. Jessica:This was a fast-moving
weekend, we also attended the cast party forSeason 6 ofRuPaul’s Drag Race in L.A. I totally fell in love with the luscious Kelly Osborne, she is so
best of luck and may the best woman win!
ADVENTURES Daisy: Watching the contestants hit
the stage with their amazing outfits and great talents at these pageants is amazing. Trust me, its not easy to keep a mug looking fabulous while changing and performing, trying to win over the audience and the judges to take that crown. We love films and this month
theLatino Film Festivalis taking placeThursday, March 13 through Sunday, March 23and the9th an- nual Cine Gay Showcase is part of the festival. This year’s Cine Gay Showcase has a diverse group of films with topics that explore identity and sexuality through a distinctly political and social lens. Included in Cine Gay this year is a documentary from Mexico and short films from Spain, Brazil and Puerto Rico, all which are in alignment with the festival’s mission to highlight the complex and unique experiences of the Latino LGBT community. Check out the lineup and get your tickets at
sdlatinofilm.com. Daisy:I love film festivals. I try to
make it every year and check out the films featured for the Cine Gay Showcase. Jessica:A phenomenalsignature
festival in San Diego and especially relevant to me as a Latina! I love to attend this event to see the great projects our fellow brothers and sisters come up with. If you truly want to see some raw talent, please don’t miss this! Finally, our last recommendation
for the month is theshamROCK,the most fun celebration of St. Patrick’s Day in Downtown San Diego. I know, I know, it’s Downtown, but come on, it’s a ton-o-fun street party with lots of green beer. It’s happeningSaturday, March 15 from 4 p.m. to Midnight. Daisy:It’s ginger-huntin’ time... Ha
ha! No, but, it really is! I so love Saint Patrick’s Day and searching for those sexy Irish lads to kiss and rub off a bit’o the luck of the Irish—especially those gingers—is Erin go Bragh fun! To purchase your tickets go to
sandiegoshamrock.com. Now for our monthly plug about
theGolden Chicksshows: The Brass Rail onSaturday, March 8 and 29 and at #1 Fifth Avenue onThursday March 20, three chances to catch your favorite girls on stage! Jessica:Guuurrrrllll! Don’t play like
you now-a-days discriminate… you sell it all you can when you get it! Oh my, was that too much shade? Girl, I think you need an umbrella, after all you is a shady lady! Okay, moving on… Let’s get us
some gingers and some zanaorias (carrots). WITH THAT WE SAY ADIOS FOR THE MONTH! SEE YOU BITCHES ON THE STREETS!!! Remember to look us up on facebook, friend us and also go out and have some safe fun. Make good choices San Diego, and keep it classy!
