Mangrove Eco-Café Moves to Happehatchee Center
T
he Mangrove Eco-Café, a longstanding gathering place for music and network- ing among environmental and gardening groups and nature lovers, is moving to the Happehatchee Center, in Estero. The next free quarterly gathering will be held in celebration of the spring equinox at 7 p.m., March 22, and features a “potlatch” meal and live performance by a musician or a musical group. Founded in 2007 and hosted by John Kiseda, the gather- ings were originally held at Rutenberg Recreation Center, in Fort Myers, and then at various locations in Lee and Collier counties. Establishing a permanent home at Happehatchee will help insure that Kiseda will be able to maintain his dream of building a community of Earth-caring people after he retires from the Department of Recreation and Parks in October.
Donations to cover musicians and coffee and tea are appreci- ated. BYO coffee cup. Location: 8791 Corkscrew Rd. For more information, call 239-992-5455 or visit
