Landing the MIGHTY WHITE STURGEON

ONE OF THE TOP LOCATIONS FOR STURGEON FISHING IS BETWEEN LILLOOET AND LYTTON IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FRASER RIVER CANYON, A WORLD-CLASS FISHERY IN A REMOTE LOCATION WHERE YOU RARELY SEE ANOTHER BOAT OR ANGLER.

The daily average size sturgeon is four to seven feet with fish up to ten feet long caught every year. There is always plenty of wildlife to see, including bears, goats, sheep and eagles. This part of the Fraser River Canyon is one of the finest river canyons - averaging 300 days of sunshine per year. Canyon sturgeon look a little different than the lower river fish, with long noses that help them swim against fast water and navigate through big rapids. Peak fishing times are July through September.
