FOR HUNTERS THERE ARE INDOOR AND OUTDOOR HANGING STATIONS WITH MEAT CUTTERS and a 100m rifle range nearby to site your rifle. Fishermen enjoy the boat launch, docks, boat rentals, tackle & bait for sale and fish cleaning station in the campground.


The real amenity though, and the reason people come back every year, is the wildlife. The resort is in area 5-12 but close to 5-13, 5-4, and 5-5, which gives you the opportunity to hunt for mule deer, white tail deer, black bear, caribou plus migratory and upland birds and Limited Entry Hunting (LEH) moose.


Fishermen pull in wild rainbow trout and kokanee up to 2.5 lbs often reaching their limit of 5 each per day (the local tip is to troll with a 4/0 flasher and apex lure or ford fender with a wedding band). Fly-fishing is best in the spring and fall and if you’re bringing the kids they’ll have fun fishing off the dock for pike minnows. Woodland Caribou Resort is the host for the 2014 Puntzi Lake Fishing Derby, July 4-6th. You can take a shot at up to $1000 in cash and lots of other great prizes or if winter is more your style, the lake freezes by mid-November and is safe for ice fishing by Christmas.
