THE GIFT
The season is upon us. Gifting and the commer- cialism of this time of year is everywhere you look. The resounding message to “BUY THIS, SHOP NOW,” is present in every form throughout our society. Shop- ping, wrapping presents and exchanging gifts are all divine and wonderful; but sometimes we tend to get caught up in thinking it’s the only thing the season is about. In reality, this time of year is about something much deeper. Behind every gift, the purest intention is the blessing of love. To receive love is what we all desire, unconditional, accepting love. The choice to give a gift is wrapped in the desire to let others know how much they mean to us, or how much we appreciate them. Consider this: What if we just wrapped our love in a
proverbial bow and gave that away? What if we sim- ply expressed in words how much someone means to us? What if we took the time to write someone a note, or called and said, “I love you,” trusting that it was our gift to give? It is what I believe the truest meaning of

the season is about. Gifts are nice, there is no denying that, but the gift of love is the best one yet! During this season, we also have the opportunity

For many people, it may be difficult to accept a deep level of love and appreciation. I invite you to be open and receptive as a gracious receiver of all that you are be- ing blessed with. Open your heart, take a breath and say thank you. Know you are loved!
