Hillcrest Wind Ensemble The Hillcrest Wind Ensemble will present a spe-


cial Holiday Concert featuring Rockin’ Around the Water Cooler, a holiday musical play onSaturday, December 14 at 8 p.m. at the lovely San Diego Woman’s Club, 2557 3rd. Ave. in Bankers Hill. The ensemble will present traditional holiday classics along with music of Vienna celebrating the New Year. During the second half of the evening’s presentation, the band will become the “pit orchestra” for the staged musical. Produced and directed by Paul Terrell with original script written by Keith Schooler, the play takes place at a holiday office party with all its drama and dysfunction. The show promises to delight with song, laughter and surprises. Refreshments will be served dur- ing intermission including home baked treats. The San Diego LGBT Center The LGBT Center’s annual holiday free-to-the-public fete is called “Come Home For The Holidays”


and takes placeSaturday, December 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. The Center will get the holiday spirit rolling by providing delicious turkey and ham, with dozens of LGBT community participants providing “pot luck-style” food items to share. There will be lively entertainment, a secular candle lighting ceremony, a Native American blessing and lots of information about the different organizations taking part.
