Modern Karton invests in more Demag crane technology

urkish cardboard and packaging manufacturer Modern Karton Sanayi ve Ticaret has commissioned
Terex Material Handling with the installation of an automated paper store using six Demag process cranes at its Corlu mill. The double-girder overhead
travelling cranes, equipped with vacuum lifting devices, gently place the finished paper rolls into storage in a space-saving arangement and to stage them ready for shipping as required. The scope of the delivery

Shin-Ei Paper orders tissue machines from Andritz
Japan’s Shin-Ei Paper has ordered two tissue machines with steel Yankees for its mill in Fuji city. The machines, which will be used for producing high-quality tissue out of recycled fibre, are scheduled to start up at the beginning of 2015.
The new PrimeLine Compact machines are designed for a speed of 1,800 m/min and a paper width of 2.8m. They will be equipped with PrimeDry Steel Yankees to enable a high drying capacity at minimized energy costs.
Propapier hosts Cristini’s 100th fabric installation
Italian press fabric manufacture Cristini has celebrated the installation of its 100th fabric system on Propapier’s PM2 machine at Eisenhüttenstadt in Germany. Cristini staff present for the
occasion were sales chief Vittorio Montiglio, technology chief Giovanni Cristini, European sales
manager Marco Bucchi supported by the Company’s German team who were joined by Propapier’s paper division manager Goetz Herold, papr production manager Peter Resvanis; PM2 manager Stefan Juergen and his team. Vital to the success of the
installation were Cristini’s latest fabric designs: DuraFlex and
DuraPreX, which were installed for the fourth time sequentially on the first press. The combination is said to
provide high dewatering of up to 5,000 litres per minute at the first
nip, providing a consistently high dry content of up to 57 per cent. The new fabrics also provided stable runnability with lightweight papers of 1,675 metres per minute.

Shin-Ei Paper, said: “Doh-Ei Paper, one of our group’s companies, replaced a cast iron Yankee with an Andritz Steel Yankee in 2012. As promised, higher drying capacity and energy savings were achieved. During
the tender phase for the two new tissue machines we had a lot of constructive discussions with Andritz engineers and they proposed various possibilities to improve the production efficiency. We consider Andritz to be a reliable supplier.”
