Shaft couplings ideal for servo motors
for use with servo-motor drives. With a simple design that makes installation easy, the new range of LN Series of Jaw-Flex couplings is ideal for both OEM and maintenance requirements. Derek Mack, sales director
A
for Tsubaki UK, said: “Tsubaki is dedicated to manufacturing power transmission solutions for its customers that will improve productivity and offer industry- leading reliability. The LN Series
high-precision coupling launched by Tsubakimoto Chain is specifically designed
offers a choice of materials to suit specific requirements and a design which is designed to provide excellent shock absorbing qualities and superior vibration damping; both of which improve overall machine performance.” The coupling consists of
two hubs, which use a simple clamping design to locate onto the drive shaft, and a spider which is available in two material types depending on the application. End-users can specify between material type 98A, which features excellent vibration damping, or 64D, which offers
Wider range of shaking units from Voith Paper
With a range of shaking units that are free of reaction forces for machine widths of 2m to 10m, Voith Paper is now also offering DuoShake with a drive torque of 400 Nm. Shaking units distribute the
fibre suspension more uniformly, prevent flakes from developing and thus improve formation. Higher paper quality is achieved due to better formation. Higher strength values, a reduced tensile ratio and better printability of the paper are also achieved. In dewatering of the suspension, the fibres frequently tend to form flakes which are distributed unevenly. High-frequency shaking with DuoShake substantially reduces this flake formation. For this, two imbalance pairs are
put into rotation by servomotors in a carriage that is mounted hydrostatically.
Due to the special arrangement of the pairs, the vertical forces are compensated and the

horizontal forces are transmitted to the breast roll by the shaking rod. The high-frequency motion of the breast roll without reaction forces provides for a reinforced crosswise instead of lengthwise orientation of the fibres and thus improves the formation. The new design of the DuoShake supplements the range of previous shaking units with drive torques of 150 Nm, 250 Nm and 600 Nm from Voith and is designed for paper machines that are from 4m to 6m wide, depending on machine speed and weight of the fibre suspension.
