darkening of day. It’s time to break out those comfort food recipes that have long been neglected for lighter summer fare. Hearty soups and winter vegetables like squash, yams and rutabagas have me excited to sample some new recipes this season. I will be sure to keep you informed of my new favorites and as always, welcome yours. Please email me your favorites at Publisher@NAHudson.com if you would like to share them.

In the meantime, I offer you a wonderful kale

recipe pays homage to glorious and nutritious kale and to National Kale Day, which will be October 2 this year. Please enjoy it and be sure to check out NationalKaleDay.org for more information and great recipes worth trying. October is also Spinal Health Month and a time to think about the well- being of this essential, yet vulnerable, body part. Experiencing an auto accident in my teens, I have always been prone to neck stiffness, pain and discomfort. My chiropractor has been instrumental in keeping me on track and feeling great through fitness challenges, pregnancies, periods of extreme stress and illness. “Chiropractic Care,” by Kathleen Barnes, is a great article that discusses techniques chiropractors use to treat their patients. “Exercise for Spinal Health,” by Michael Curran, offers tips to keep your spine healthy while exercising. And finally, local chiropractor Dr. Paul Roses, of Bayonne, educates on subluxation and exactly how chiropractic adjustments help carry clear messages from brain to body keeping dis-ease away.
