OAKLEY HALL HOTEL Dining for the special occasion

APOLLO HOTEL Dining for the special occasion

Following the opening of its bedrooms in June 2009, Oakley hall hotel and the Winchester restaurant have gone from strength to strength. During a recent AA hotel inspection the Winchester restaurant gained a second rosette for culinary excellence. Not only this, but the hotel achieved the highest possible score in its overall band for the AA’s assessment areas including service, food and hospitality.

The Winchester restaurant offers a modern and sophisticated dining room. Stunning floor to ceiling windows allow the light to flood the room during the day and elegant chandeliers provide an air of romance for evening guests.

Vespers, the Apollo Hotel Basingstoke’s fine dining restaurant, is renowned locally as the perfect place to eat for a special occasion thanks to its warm ambience, innovative menu and competitive prices. It is equally suited for a business dinner or can be hired for private dining.

As one of the few restaurants in the area to be awarded a prestigious AA rosette, which was accomplished within just two weeks of opening, Vespers has earned itself a reputation of serving international classics in an intimate and understated setting.

The exciting menu features modern takes on classic dishes, including open ravioli of crab with butter-tossed popcorn, and new this season, Vespers 'chicken curry', elegantly deconstructed to offer a different perspective on the nation’s favourite dish. The more traditional diner hasn’t been forgotten either, with roast English lamb rump or two cuts of roast English pork.

Vespers homemade dessert menu offers the guest the most delicious of difficult decisions; from rich dark chocolate fondant with salted caramel ice cream to a twist on strawberries and cream. As an alternative to dessert, there is a wonderful cheeseboard displaying a selection of English and continental cheeses.

An international wine list has been personally selected to complement the food perfectly.

Located just one mile from junction 6 off the M3, the independently owned Apollo Hotel consists of 125 bedrooms, health club, bar, Brasserie and Vespers.
