ibraries are fun places for children and their families. Children can join the library from birth and borrow up to twelve books for three weeks for FREE.
There are no fines or charges for damaged or lost books to borrowers under 5 years old. There are lots of different kinds of books for babies such as board books, picture books,“touch and feel” books and lift-the-flap books. You can also hire CDs of stories and rhymes and DVDs of your favourite story characters.
For parents and carers of young children there are books on helping bring up baby.
Many libraries provide FREE Baby Bounce and Rhyme sessions for babies and story times for toddlers.
Every summer Herefordshire Libraries run the Summer Reading Challenge where children can collect stickers and be awarded a certificate, and a medal for reading.
