CARE PARTNER INTERVIEW WITH ELEANOR, RALEIGH, NC


Imagine. Imagine a routine high school day, and your fifteen year old is crying after school. As a consoling parent, I asked her, "Is it about your friends?" As the tears rolled down her face, she began to tell me….”I couldn’t see. I couldn’t talk. I was stumbling.” That spring day was the beginning of my child’s journey with MS. It is my journey as well.

WHO ARE YOU A CARE PARTNER FOR? I am a care partner for my daughter, Kristen.


HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A CARE PARTNER? Kristen is now 29 years old. She was diagnosed at the age of 15.


WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT KRISTEN? As a parent, I always recognized that Kristen had a positive attitude. It was apparent when her neurologist asked her to talk with a patient. The patient was newly diagnosed with MS, and she had a difficult time coping with the new diagnosis. Kristen gave support by sharing her experiences. She was a 16 year old who had
