ADVERTORIAL

PREVENT ANY NASTY SURPRISES

For your organisation to be successful, your workforce must be trained to be fit in what it is doing currently and developed to be healthier for your company’s future plans. Is your workforce trained

to be competent in its current tasks? Has it the skills to complete the tasks and the knowledge to understand why it must do them? In terms of management systems, such as ISO 9001 and

OHSAS 18001, it is often the latter that is found wanting. Where this understanding is missing, workers are tempted to skip steps, leave the paperwork until later and eventually the system fails. When determining the training

required for the workforce, match the organisation’s requirements to the proposed training programmes, ensure that not only you, but the trainee has clear expectations for the results of the training. Will the course give them extra

responsibilities or is it to enable understanding of their current role? That way, there won’t be any surprises later on!
