Family Asset Protection Company Ltd

for your care. In 2009-2010, approximately 70,000 houses were sold in the UK to pay for care costs, according to Age UK. If your assets are over £14,250, then you have to pay a contribution to your own care costs. If your assets are over £23,250 you pay the costs in full. Solution: If you put your assets in a Family Protection Trust the government can not force you to sell your property to cover your care costs. You would be entitled to government support for your long-term care.

Unreliable Children

Problem: It is impossible to foresee any problems which may occur in your children’s life such as drugs, alcohol, divorce, bad debt and bankruptcy. Solution: It may not be the best for vulnerable children to inherit your estate if they are not capable of dealing responsibly

with the implications. With a Family Protection Trust, your technical trustees can assess if your children are in a position to handle any inheritance, and, if so, according to your wishes can make decisions in their best interests regarding your estate.

Marriage after death

Problem: Tere is a possibility that your family will not be entitled to any of your estate. If one of a couple dies, then the estate may pass onto the survivor. If this person re-married and died before a new will is writen, then the assets can transfer to the new family, leaving your family with nothing. Solution: If you set up a Family Protection Trust, then this removes the problem. If one dies then the family will still have access to the assets. If the remaining partner re-marries, the assets do not pass on to the new spouse as they are protected by the trust. Te assets remain within your family.
