Timber

Fighting fit for 2013

Timber Expo is moving to a new venue for 2013 and moving up a gear in its quest to take timber to the heart of the UK construction industry. Welcome to the UK’s truly national timber show...

With a strategic move to the Birmingham NEC, Timber Expo is ramping up for an expanded show that will attract exhibitors from the UK and expanding overseas markets. The NEC will also make a huge difference to visitors with improved transport options and routes.

The show is already over 75% sold out with six months to go and with an expected 180 companies exhibiting this year at the NEC, Timber Expo Event Director, Loretta Sales is confident the move is an exciting one. “Timber Expo moving to the NEC in 2013 is great news for everybody involved in the event and within the timber industry. The NEC is a fantastic venue and is the ideal location for the further expansion of the show.

“The transport links make it even easier for our visitors and exhibitors to get here. In fact, the airport being connected with the venue was a key element in choosing the NEC, as the vast majority of our key target regions are overseas exhibitors (including Austria, Finland, Germany, Sweden, Russia, Poland and Latvia) that all have direct flights into Birmingham International. We are working closely with the UKTI on this and have some fantastic developments in store.”

NEC Business development director Chris Hartley also welcomed the move, saying: “The NEC has proved time and time again that the flexibility of our venue and of our approach to our clients means that not only can we cater for events of all shapes and sizes, but as a dedicated exhibition and conference destination we actually help our customers to grow their events.”

For a full update on the show the first 2013 issue of the new digital Timber Expozine is now available to download; www.timber-expo.co.uk/media. There is lots of great content including an update on the Timber Accord Pavilion, Timber Talks programme, Timber Buyers Forum, Wood Awards 2013 and the new Bolivian Pavilion! Expozine also provides a full update on the latest sponsors and exhibitors including the influx of overseas timber companies from Europe and further afield.

Loretta Sales, Timber Expo Event Director

“Timber Expozine has gone from strength to strength,” said Loretta Sales, “the publication has grown by providing readers with informative industry content and comment, as well as the latest show updates. Reflected in the magazine is the very international feel of Timber Expo 2013, with innovative products being showcased from all corners of the globe, including Bolivia, Belgium, Austria, Germany, Canada and America.”

Looking ahead even further to 2014, Timber Expo will also co-locate with W14 - a key show for the joinery and furniture trades - so truly bring the timber industry together at the same place and at the same time. So the location and scope of this year’s event will prove to be an evolutionary move for all involved.
