Langley’s green credentials grow with Sintofoil

National roofing and waterproofing expert Langley Waterproofing Systems Ltd has boosted its green credentials with the launch of its new 100% recyclable Sintofoil TPO Single Ply Roofing Solutions.

Langley’s innovative Sintofoil range offers a ‘best of both worlds’ approach for architects, specifiers, contractors and building stakeholders - an environmentally friendly roofing system that combines the strength, durability and low volatility of traditional EPDM single ply membranes, with the weldability and aesthetics of PVC membranes - for ultimate design flexibility and performance.

Langley’s light weight, easy to handle Sintofoil TPO single play systems are available in a wide range of roll widths and thicknesses, offering low roof zone depth and rapid installation in even the most challenging new build and refurbishment projects.

This next generation sustainable roofing membrane is safe and quick to install, contains no polluting elements such as chlorine, plasticisers, lead or other heavy metals, boasts excellent flexibility in extremes of heat and cold, and is resistant to algae and other micro-organisms. Furthermore, no pollutants are emitted during the manufacturing process of Sintofoil membranes.

Reflective of the company’s enviable reputation for delivering reliability and innovation, Langley’s next generation Sintofoil Systems are based on a proven TPO formulation which has been successfully utilised across a broad range of environments for more than 20 years.

International landmarks utilising Sintofoil TPO technology include the Bilbao Exhibition Centre in Spain, the Vulcano Buono Commercial Centre in Italy and Belgium’s Zeebrugge Terminal.

“There is a growing desire within the UK construction industry to ‘go green’ and as waterproofing specialists we are continuously exploring and developing the next generation of roofing systems in order to provide customers with proven, responsible, environmentally friendly solutions which meet the requirements of their individual projects”, says Steve Rowe, Product Develop- ment Manager at Langley.

“After many months of development we are delighted to introduce Sintofoil TPO to our range of total roofing solutions and look forward to delivering even greater benefits to our customers.”

In order to ensure that architects, specifiers and contractors understand the environmental benefits that can be achieved through using Sintofoil and similar systems, the technical team at Langley are currently in the process of creating a free CPD seminar entitled ‘TPO - Single Ply Roofing; The sustainable option’.

This one hour presentation seeks to define why the more sustainable and environmentally friendly Single Ply TPO type systems whould be given greater consideration when designing flat roof construction over other main stream mediums, such as PVC’s.

Delegates will benefit from interaction with Langley experts, who will be able to guide attendees through a range of issues, such as the fundamental differences between TPO and PVC membranes. The CPD is due to be delivered in July 2013, with venue and further details to be released in the coming weeks. Anyone interested in attending is
