Bits & Pieces Kingston Trio Exhibit Extended
Kingston Trio: A World of Music, the exhibit that premiered in early November at the Coronado Museum of History & Art, was slated to end in early April but has been extended through mid-July due to popular demand.
The Kingston Trio was awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award for their significant influence on folk, pop, rock and Americana music during the late 1950s and early ‘60s. Many photographs, oral history interviews, performance clips and other video components shed light on this musical phenomenon, which paved the way for the next generation of musicians. Two of the Trio’s members, Nick Reynolds and John Stewart, had close Coronado/San Diego ties that are explored in the exhibit.

CHA Launches New Wine & Lecture Series
CHA began the new year with an exciting new Wine & Lecture series, inviting the public to fill its lecture hall for fascinating lectures with a historical perspective.
Since January, CHA has hosted four Wine & Lecture events held on frequent Friday evenings. CHA and community members alike have enjoyed lectures by local historical fiction author Laurel Corona, WWII POWs expert Craig Smith, a local Eagle Scout and his Navy SEALs documentary, and local Hotel del Coronado historian Christine Donovan.
CHA has received positive feedback about every unique lecture, which have all been very well attended. Admission to the lectures is free and no reservations are needed. Wine is available for a $5 donation. CHA invites you to join us before strolling down Orange Avenue for your Friday night dinner reservations, so stay tuned for the next event in our new series!
