This summer, the Coronado Historical Association will present a fun and educational week-long day camp for kids of Coronado and surrounding areas.

Five camp sessions will run Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. Session start dates are June 17, July 8, July 22, July 29 and August 5.

Children entering grades 3 thru 6 are invited to take part in our programs and learn the history of their community—all while having fun and staying active. Beginning in mid-June, the day camp will allow kids to get a behind-the-scenes look at the day-to-day operations of the Coronado Museum of History & Art. Weekly activities include field trips to the Hotel del Coronado and Spreckels Park, craft projects, educational quiz games, reenacting some of the island’s most historic moments and taking walking tours around the island, all while building communication and interpersonal skills.

This program will give campers a good look at the humble beginnings of Coronado Island and teach them how learning about the past can prepare them for a future of active participation within their local community. With a smart blend of education, fun and entertainment, this summer program is sure to please the entire family.

Cost: $140 for CHA members; $160 for non-members; $175 for enrollment plus a one-year family membership. Active-duty military families are eligible for a 10% discount. Single-day rate of $50 is also available.

Campers will need to bring a lunch each day. Snacks and beverages will be provided. A special t-shirt will be provided with each enrollment. Please contact Megan Warneke for more information at (619) 435-7242 or education@coronadohistory.org, or register online at coronadohistory.org.
